Club Oz and the Workout of the Century

Last night my friends and I went out and hand so much fun! Danielle and I met Maddy and Nicole in their neighborhood and we sat on the canal and had some drinks. I was a little late because our dinner got over right at 9. Allie and I made Jean and Odile no bake cookies for dessert and they loved them! They were fascinated with how easy they were so we left the jar of peanut butter and oats we bought for them and wrote down the recipe. It was kind of hard to convert the measurements from liters and grams to cups, but they turned out pretty good!
Excuse the sweat all over our faces. No AC.

Anyway, so at the canal later that night, a 35ish French man and his friend sat down next to us and was really nice. He was asking us about France, and school, and we asked him how to tell crazy people to leave us alone since we had so many weird experiences at the train station. I told him that I didn't like red wine and then he poured us a little to try. He said it was the good wine. I still didn't like it. But he was so friendly he even drew us a map of France and showed us what region it was from. His English was pretty good but he stubbled a lot and told us to speak slowly. We helped him with the little French the 4 of us know put together. We said goodbye to our new friend and walked through their somewhat sketch neighborhood to the metro. My pass didn't work so I had to crawl between some bars to get through. We stopped at Chatelet (ugh) and met our two other friends, Jen and Sarah, at Club Oz. It was an Australian bar with Aussi stuff all over the walls. They had drinks for 5 Euros on Tuesdays so that's obviously the day we picked to go! We got there and Jen and Sarah had been waiting for us and said that it wasn't that cool inside and it smelled. But we went in anyway and I loved it! We got mojitos and while we were sitting down, more people started to show up. There were a few creepers. We were all dancing and the creepers put their arms around us and kissed Maddy on the cheek and tried to video tape us dancing with him. We were literally peeling him off of each other. Gross. The bar tender poured all of us free shots and so I took it without a problem, and I looked at my friends and Maddy asked the bartender if there was even alcohol in it.. And he said yes but it was free so there's only a little. But it was free. But the music was great!!!! I had a lot of fun dancing. There was a 30 something guy who was dancing near us and he was really into it. He looked like he was salsa-ing with himself. One hand behind his back, the other above his head. His eyes were closed the whole time. He was just loving life. There was a lady in the corner about the same age also getting into it. She had no rhythm and was also loving life. At one point a couple was slow dancing to a rap song. Hmm. Maddy, Danielle and I ordered beers after the mojitos and were having fun dancing and watching everyone else dance. Danielle just found out that she has tickets to see Beyonce (I'm sooooo jealous) and we somehow were talking about our cars. Maddys is named J, Danielle's is B, so since I have been looking for the perfect name for mine, we naturally named it Blue Ivy. We kind of lost track of time but the metro stops running at 12:30 or 1 and we had to catch the last one. A taxi would be way too expensive and since all of us were going in opposite directions except for Maddy and Nicole, we would't walk that far alone. So we HAD to make the metro.

I looked at my phone and it said 12:20something. And I showed it to them and we all had panicked looks on our faces. Our beers were over half full and we just had to finish them. And we did. Really fast. That's probably why the 3 of us didn't feel so good today. We left the bar and my stop was only 2 away. So I made it fine. But Danielle said she had to run to make the train and she thinks it was the last one because everyone else on the platform was running too. And Maddy and Nicole got to a station where they needed to switch trains, but when they got there there was an announcement in French that said the metro was finished. So they had a 30 minute walk back to their apartment.

Today I went to brunch with Maddy and Nicole in their neighborhood and it is not as scary in daylight. Then I met Danielle at the Eiffel Tower and we went up it! We bought our tickets and started the journey to the top. We had to walk up to the second platform. OMG so many stairs. And it was hot. And I didn't feel good from last night and had just eaten an omelet. But the view was amazing. What a workout. I just know my legs will be sore when i wake up. We were both so sweaty when we got to each of the platforms. There was a long line on the 2nd platform and we found out that that was to buy another ticket for the elevator to the very top. We got in the line and cooled off from the breeze. But then it was taking a while and Danielle had to get back to her apartment because ISA was coming to see if they've cleaned before her and her roommate leave. So we had to go back down. By elevator thank god. But I didn't mind at all! I didn't really want to pay more for another ticket and got some good pictures of the view.

I'm too lazy to upload my photos from my camera so and the only ones I took on my phone were from ground level. Still an amazing view!

Tomorrow my mom is coming!!! She probably getting on the plane as I am typing this. She will be here tomorrow at 11 am. I will meet her at her hotel after my photo class and then she will come with me to my painting class! We are going to a Dali painting museum and I am soo excited. I'm really excited for my friends to meet my mom! I know they will love her and she loves everyone. But I know that now that my mom is here, this means that I have to leave soon.  Just thinking about leaving is making me sick. Honestly my stomach hurts.  I could cry right now! I am going to miss the city, food, history, my host family, the adventures and especially my friends. I am just really sad to leave. I absolutely love Paris and it has been my dream since I was little to be here and now it is almost over. I have learned so much about myself and other people and have a wider view of all of the choices I have with what I can do with my life. There are so many opportunities and adventures waiting for me. Ugh I'm so upset.
